Humor facilitates the release of endorphins which are chemicals that interact with the receptors in the brain. They help you to have a more positive outlook on life. Endorphins also act as analgesics, which means they decrease painful feelings. If you do get regular headaches, it makes sense to use humor to ward off pain and create a more positive outlook.
