Have You Started Using Coconut Oil in Your Life?
Sometimes we need to start out small when we want to make big changes in our lives. Attempting to use coconut oil for all the ways it can be used is a bit overwhelming. And, as usual, when we try to take on something so huge we sometimes stop and back off altogether. So, let me make a few suggestions for you.
There are so many different ways to use coconut oil. I’ve spent hours cleaning and conditioning the inside and outside of my car with it and I have spent minutes with other uses. Starting out with one of the simpler uses is probably going to be the most comfortable way to begin incorporating coconut oil into your life.
I’m going to help you by breaking it down into steps. So, here’s the first step— go get some coconut oil! Here are some tips in purchasing it-
- The best type of coconut oil to ingest is unrefined and cold- pressed. Some people use the refined because they don’t like the taste and/or smell of coconut oil. Please try to find your way around this as I believe it holds more nutritive value when it is in its most pure form which is unrefined and cold pressed.
- For other uses that are in my book that don’t involve ingesting it, such as conditioning your car, for instance, you can get away with using the refined, expeller processed version.
- Buy coconut oil that is organic which is easy to find these days.
The next step is to try a simple use from my book “101 Creative Coconut Oil Uses.” Here’s one that you may like- try conditioning your cutting board from the kitchen. Just take a little coconut oil, (you don’t need much), onto a cloth or even a paper towel. Then just rub it in. Whether it is a wooden or a plastic board, it will be beneficial. It will condition it as it disinfects it. I have a wooden cutting board hanging in my kitchen and using the coconut oil on it really spiffed up the way it looks.
Once you’ve experienced a simple way to use the oil you will hopefully be inspired to try more.
